Dreamcatcher Legend
The legend of the Dreamcatcher comes from the Native American
Indians. They believe the Dreamcatcher catches the bad dreams
and lets the good dreams filter through to the dreamer.
When hung, it moves freely in the air and catches the dreams
when they float by. The bad dreams, not knowing the way, gets
entangled in the webbing and perish with the first light of the
new day. The good dreams know the way and slip through the center
of the web, and slide down off one of the feathers down onto the
dreamer.
Some tribes make a Dreamcatcher for their newborn, so that only
good luck and good dreams will be had by the child all of its
life. Some tribes like the Ojibwas hang Dreamcatchers in their
home so that all can have good luck.
Here you will find hanging as well as table
top Dreamcatchers.
