Materials Used
Dream Catchers
Dream Catchers are made with many different materials. I use
genuine suede leather lace, imitation sinew which comes in many
different colors, a variety of feathers, pony beads, crow beads,
and/or shells. Some of the webs have glass or crystal beads weaved
into the center.
Crystal Wands
Crystal Wands are made with a drift wood base, which are wrapped
with suede leather lace. Quartz Crystals are attached to a single
end, or to both ends of the wand. The wands are decorated with
rabbit fur, feathers, and beads.
Antler Pieces
I use antler horns from Deer, Moose, and Elk for the table top
Dream Cathers and the Quartz antler pieces.
Crystal Jewelry
All crystal pendants are wire wrapped with sterling silver wire
(9.25). The Quartz crystals have been hand mined by the artist
in Arkansaw at Coleman Mine in Jessieville. The pendants are generally
decorated with australian crystal beads and wire designs.
Dance Staff
A Dance staff, dance wand, dance stick, is a decorated stick,
normally between 14" to 18" long, and is held in the
hands of a dancer. It may be decorated with horsehair, cones,
beadwork, feathers, animal tails (tail stick), colored tape, a
imitation bird of pray head, foot or claw, bull's horn(s) or antlers.
A Dance staff may also have a small dream catcher hanging from
it.
Rattles
Rattles are made with genuine turtle shells. I purchased all
my turtle shells from Natvie American Pow Wows. These rattles
are filled with either beads, small pebbles, or shells. The shells
are attached to drift wood, covered in suede leather lace, and
decorated with feathers, fur, and beads.
